Assistant Director, TRIO Talent Search / School Coordinator
Position Information:
Coordinator Role: conducts outreach and supportive services to students who are eligible to participate in the College Access program. Annual salary range is $46,000 - 50,000.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide information about the program to stakeholders and students
- Identify and recruit students, verify and document eligibility
- Assess educational needs and provide academic and support services
- Monitor participant progress and maintain timely documentation of all activities
- Assistance students in preparing for college entrance test and admissions applications
- Facilitate college exploration, assist with scholarship applications, assist students (and family) with FAFSA, financial aid information/financial literacy
- Coordinate workshops and college/ career exploration visits
- Provide public relations/information pieces for newsletters, brochures, and flyers
- Partner with host school staff to ensure objectives are met
- Support TS staff members with program materials in compliance with federal guidelines
- Maintain database and monitor required/permissible services
- Prepare program data for Annual Performance Report
- Organize site visits at host schools to inform stakeholders of program goals
- Oversee student file maintenance at sites and in main office
- Attend meetings & professional development trainings
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (education, social work, school counseling); Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
- Understanding of graduation/college prep requirements, advising, and tutoring
- Experience with college admissions, preparation, and financial aid processes
- Organizational, communication, management, and public speaking skills
- Knowledge of computer programs and databases
- Familiarity with the population served through Trio grants (first-generation/low-income)
