TheAUB Archeological Museum has an opening for the position ofFaculty Position - Curator , above grade 12. Since this provides an opportunity for promotionfrom within, please circulate this information and/or post it in your area of jurisdiction so that those interested and having the minimum qualifications may apply not later thanJanuary 31, 2020.

I. Basic Functions:The position carries an academic appointment in the Department of History and Archaeology, and a close working collaboration with the archaeologists in the department is expected. II. Minimum Requirements:
  • PhD in Archaeology.
  • Knowledge of novel twenty-first century up-to-date theories and practices in the museum sector.
  • Knowledge and training in both fields of archaeology and museology is a plus.
  • Noted scholars with High international research profile for attracting scholars, graduate students, and the wider public.

    Organization

    Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education.     AUB currently offers more than 120 programs leading to the bachelor's, master's, MD, and PhD degrees. The University became coeducational in 1922; its student body is 50 percent male and 50 percent female. The language of instruction is English (except for courses in the Arabic Department and other language courses). The student faculty ratio is 13 to 1.
