Primary Duties:
• Tutor students on science concepts, science processes, and other science-related topics as needed
• Help students with study skills as needed
• Model exemplary student behavior
• Encourage and help students become independent learners
• Enter tutor session data as required and directed

Success Center Science Tutors are also expected to do the following:
• Adhere to and enforce Success Center policies, particularly those regarding computer and cell phone use
• Perform light administrative aide duties as needed
• Assume greeter/front desk work duties as needed
• Maintain a positive and pleasant temperament at all times

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in at least 6 academic credit hours at Gordon State College
• Successful completion of a lab science courses in two of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, Physics
• 3.0 overall GPA and one letter of recommendation from a Gordon State science faculty member
• Applicants whose overall GPA is below 3.0 will be considered for employment under the following conditions:
 GPA in Science classes is 3.5 or better
 Two letters of recommendation from Gordon State science faculty members
