The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant Director of Research Finance to lead and manage a growing team responsible for proposal preparation (pre-award) and post award activities. Reporting to the Director of Research Development, Integrity, and Strategy, the Assistant Director of Research Finance will be responsible for oversight of a large volume and diverse set of complex, federal and non-federal sponsored and non-sponsored research projects, involving multiple sub-awards, principal investigators, and/or cross-school initiatives. As we seek to enhance and deepen administrative support to Department investigators (faculty, postdocs, instructors, etc.), the Assistant Director will work closely with the existing team and the Director to increase team knowledge and build capacity and skills as needed.
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is the third largest clinical department in the School of Medicine and the fourth largest with respect to research expenditures. With over 70 faculty on the professoriate and more than 200 clinician educators, the Department is a top-10 NIH-funded Department in the country. The Department has wide-range of NIH and other grants and projects including multiple NIH T32, DP, P and U awards, collaborative agreements, and more than 15 NIH K awards, DARPA-funded research, numerous foundation grants, and a range of substantial gifts and endowments. In addition, the Department has many faculty who are dually-appointed at Stanford and the VA adding an additional layer of funds flow complexity.
