Position Description
  • The University of Toledo is seeking an enthusiastic tenure track faculty member interested in contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching and actively pursuing scholarly interests; opportunities for clinical instruction/research are available. Candidates with an emphasis in the areas of aphasia, traumatic brain injury, dysphagia/swallowing, voice disorders, or speech science are preferred, although individuals with other areas of expertise will be strongly considered.Speech-Language Pathology at UT is an excellent and growing program, which is fully accredited, and housed in a state-of-the-art facility in the School of Intervention and Wellness, in the College of Health and Human Services. The UT Medical Center and College of Medicine also provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research.

The University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.Newly formed in July 2016, The College of Health and Human Services is organized into four basic Schools: Intervention and Wellness; Population Health; Social Justice; & Exercise and Rehabilitation
    Sciences. Undergraduate and Graduate work is available. The Intervention and Wellness Unit/Programs
    are accredited/approved by CACREP, NASP, and ASHA. 

    The starting salary is commensurate with qualifications. The starting date is January 14, 2019. This is a nine-month, tenure-track appointment with possibilities of summer employment. Rank is negotiable; wages are competitive with a comprehensive benefit package.

  • Qualifications
    Applicants are required to hold a PhD or equivalent degree or have all but dissertation completed towards a PhD or equivalent degree in speech-language pathology or related area. Applicants must be CCC-SLP and eligibility for Ohio license in speech-language pathology. Evidence of accomplishments or strong potential
    for success in teaching, research, publications, grant writing, and professional service are required. Persons who have completed all but their dissertation may apply; however, applicants must have earned their doctorate by January 1, 2019. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
