Position Description
  • The University of Toledo Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is pleased to announce the opening of a 12-month, Associate/Assistant Professor tenure-track faculty position. The start date for this position is July 2020 or later as negotiated. 

    The University of Toledo is one of 14 state universities in Ohio. It was established in 1872 and became a member of the state university system in 1967. The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio merged July 2006 to form the public university with the third largest operating budget in the state. The University of Toledo is a public metropolitan research university with 23,000 students on its main campus and health science campus, which houses the University of Toledo Medical Center and the Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center. The University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the DPT Program is accredited by CAPTE.

    The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is part of the College of Health and Human Services, which is organized into four basic schools: Intervention and Wellness; Population Health; Social Justice; & Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences, which houses the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.  The program admits 28 DPT students per year.

  • Qualifications

    The qualified candidate will have teaching responsibilities within the DPT curriculum and will be expected to develop/progress a focused and productive research agenda that is competitive for external funding. Candidates must have an earned PhD or equivalent degree and be eligible for Physical Therapy licensure in the state of Ohio.

    The preferred candidate is one who has a successful track record of publications, external funding or strong evidence of an ability to achieve external funding, and teaching experience in a DPT program. Opportunities for teaching are available in the areas of pediatrics, geriatrics, and patient examination/management.  Candidates with expertise in other areas are also encouraged to apply. Opportunities for collaborative research exist within and across colleges of the University.  Opportunities to participate in clinical practice are also available.
