About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. The Chemistry Department seeks an Adjunct faculty member. Teaching assignments would include lecture and laboratory instruction in General Chemistry and/or Organic Chemistry courses for both science and non-science majors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A candidate for this position must have a Master's Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry and one year of teaching Chemistry at the college level. Familiarity with the use of technology in instruction is a plus. Commitment to excellent teaching and to the goals of a community college is sought. The successful candidate should have a strong desire to interact with a culturally diverse student body.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Doctorate in Chemistry or Biochemistry is strongly preferred.
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Spring 2020
SALARY & BENEFITS: $80.95 per hour. No benefits.
