Quality Assurance Data Coordinator & Analyst - Patient Access
At Stony Brook Medicine, a Quality Assurance Data Coordinator & Analyst - Patient Access supports QA activities for SBUH, SHSH ANDSBELIH transfers, performs quality finance based Patient Access analytics forrevenue cycle, produces data and manages QA electronic systems, and prepares documentation to reportsame and preforms QA duties for Patient Access effectiveness.
Duties of the Quality Assurance Data Coordinator & Analyst - Patient Access may include the following but are not limited to:
Assess and validate Stony Brook Medicine (SBM), Stony Brook Southampton and EasternLong Island Hospital (ELIH) for patient transfers review to ensure adherence toquality of workflow process for Stony brook Medicine (SBM) to ELIH workflow andprotocols on a daily basis to ensure that billing, insurance codes, properprotocols are chosen and workflow are completed successfully to confirmexcellence in billing.
Responsible for quality and finance-based analytics to supportrevenue cycle, financial goals and compliance; actively measures the knowledge,development and effectiveness of departmental training for Patient AccessServices department for Stony Brook Medicine under the direction of theDirector, Patient Access Services. Produces data in various formats, including,charts, and graphs etc., summarizing data findings. Serve as a reliableresource for department statistics, and serves to maintain share drive andSharePoint. Is responsible for rule revision (supporting Quality withincomputing system applications); Serves as Administrator of Registration QAsystem and other department applications as assigned. Measures and analyzescompetence and performance of staff based on work flow, policy and procedure.
Preparesreports to serve to identify training opportunities for departmental divisionsand individual staff. Responsible to document departmental staff completion of annualdepartmental procedural competencies as required by the department section towhich they are assigned. Identify and corrects workflow deficiencies, based onreview of workflow and gathering information and based on data assessment.Supports Departmental QA Activities. Produces weekly, monthly and annualcomparisons QA Activity Reports to leadership. Supports and meets data needsfor development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve andenhance performance and services; ;works with a varietyof information applications and databases to develop schedules and special reports,etc. May be assigned as a Disaster/Emergency Service Worker, as required; assistsPatient Access Quality Assurance to meet requests for inter & intra-departmentalinformation. Compiles and researches patient related information and completereports as required monitor’s inquiry topics and proactively communicatesinquiry trends to stakeholders and strategically uses inquiry trends to guideQuality, Training, Procedural, IT and other pertinent departmental activities.Meets Patient Access Quality Assurance goals to compile and document KPI’s,volumes for Patient Access Department.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position may require working in various locations throughout Patient Access Department.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years ofrelated experience. Demonstrated intermediate (not only basic familiarity) proficiency in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and writtencommunication and multi-tasking skills. Experience and expertise inspeaking with customers. Ability to work well with persons who are under stress(such as sick patients and their distressed family members).
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. 5 or more years of experience in statisticaldata analysis/Quantitative Analysis/Qualitative Analysis, project managementand/or health care reporting requirements. Experience supporting a QA IT system. Experience in writing professional reports, developing databases, matrix and other tools to support staff in ensuring quality. Demonstratedsuccess with advanced statistical research techniques andprocedures. Advanced computer skills, complex financial analyses, spreadsheetsand database software.
