Description:

The Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations in the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin seeks applicants for a faculty position to begin Fall 2020. This position is open-rank, meaning tenure-track (Assistant Professor) or tenured (Associate or Full Professor). The position will have connections with the School of Information and the Whole Communities Whole Health initiative (e.g., a joint appointment with the School of Information is possible depending on the candidate’s research areas).

Applicants should have expertise in visual communication and persuasion in the health context and be able to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; potential areas of focus may include data visualization, persuasion in visual communication, the role of visuals in interactive design, and techniques for making big data accessible for tailored health communication interventions. Applicants with a Ph.D. are preferred, with evidence of strong research, excellent teaching, and/or commensurate industry experience. Salary is competitive.

Qualifications:

Applicants with a Ph.D. or near completion of the Ph.D are preferred, with evidence of outstanding research, teaching, and grant potential.
