Assistant Professor of Economics

The Department of Economics, Business, and Finance at Lake Forest College anticipates filling one tenure-track position beginning fall 2020. We invite applications at the assistant or associate level, though candidates at the associate level must demonstrate a proven record of teaching excellence and mentorship of undergraduate students. Successful applicants must be able to teach Intermediate Macroeconomics, contribute to the department’s core and elective curriculum, and advise senior theses and independent student projects in macroeconomics. The ability to teach classes in finance, international trade, globalization, and/or health would be valuable but is not required. An ability to contribute to the college’s interdisciplinary International Relations program and its First-Year Studies curriculum would also be valued. The teaching load is 3-3, though the number of annual preps is usually held to four. A fully-funded one-semester research sabbatical is available after successful completion of the third-year review. Faculty at Lake Forest College are expected to develop a research agenda that leads to peer-reviewed publications, and mentoring students in research is desired.
