Be Strong Families is a national 501 c-3 organization whose mission is partnering to develop transformative conversations that nurture the spirit of family, promote well-being and prevent violence. We do this through the empowered engagement of vulnerable parents, youth, children, and extended family members, and are nationally recognized for our Parent Café model. Since 2012, BSF has partnered with organizations, systems, and communities to offer training and technical assistance to help create peer-to-peer discussions that promote vitality, provide emotional healing, and foster peace. These transformative conversations not only prevent violence and fight oppression, they give hope, create amazing leaders and help overlooked communities thrive.

Be Strong Families (BSF) is seeking a part-time Outcomes and Impact Assistant to support the evaluation activities carried out by the Outcomes and Impact Team.
- Work collaboratively with Outcomes and Impact Team Lead to meet project due dates and maintain timely progress on Outcomes and Impact projects
- Conduct internet research to find resources and materials related to evaluation, Be Strong Families, Parent Cafes, Strengthening Families, evidence-based practice and other relevant topics
- Support implementation of National Parent Cafe Evaluation, including data entry and report production
- Support the development and implementation of evaluation tools and processes for all BSF training workshops, including data entry on excel and survey monkey, and reporting
- Participate in Outcomes and Impact team meetings and other internal meetings as requested
- Support Outcomes and Impact Team Lead in coordinating team meetings, Board Committee meetings, evaluation TA calls, webinars, etc Administrative support (filing, copying and scanning, maintaining supplies)
- Support relationships with other community-based organizations, by contributing to BSF support of partner events, and attending community/resource events and organizational partner meetings along with other BSF staff, as requested
- Provide limited support for training and service activities in the Western Region (e.g. material duplication, preparation, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bilingual – English and Spanish
- Basic proficiency in one or more of the following: Survey Monkey, Salesforce, Asana, Slack, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher
- Experience with community-based organizations, familiarity with/interest in program evaluation
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule according to program and agency needs (Occasional evening/weekend hours may be required)
- Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Administrative and problem-solving skills; good attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative environment
- Ability to work well with diverse groups of people
The criteria for being a Community Service Federal Work Study student is below:
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Eligible for the Federal Work Study program at Pacific Oaks College (contact Financial Aid to verify your status).
- Must maintain FWS eligibility for the entire academic year.
- Must have access to their own reliable transportation and be able to travel to off-campus partner worksite.
- Requires ability to walk up to 4-5 hours per day with intermittent occasional sitting, standing, and bending.
- Occasionally may be required to lift items up to 20 pounds to a height up to 3 feet.
- Occasionally may be required to carry items up to 20 pounds for distances up to 500 feet
