This position provides patron service and administrative support for library operations.

Essential Duties

Assists patrons. (60%)
•Performs circulation desk duties; checks materials in and out; registers patrons.
•Collects payments for lost or damaged items; updates patron records accordingly.
•Answers routine inquiries and refers patrons for reference assistance.
• Instructs patrons to appropriate personnel.
•Answers telephone calls; provides information and assistance; refers callers to appropriate personnel.
•Assists and instructs patrons in the use of the print management system.
•Instructs patrons in the use of reference resources.
•Adds and removes Banner holds on student accounts.
•Assists patrons in the use of the presentation lab.

Provides administrative support for library operations. (20%)
•Maintains the cash drawer.
•Maintains monthly statistics in area of responsibility.
•Completes a variety of regular and special reports.

Assists with library programming. (10%)
•Assists in the planning and coordination of library programming.
•Develops library displays and signage for events.

Performs a variety of related duties. (10%)
•Sorts and shelves books.
•Reads and straightens shelves.
•Recommends changes to library policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

•Associate’s degree required.
•More than two years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience in libraries with automated catalog system and audio/video editing programs.

Physical Demands

•The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
•The work is typically performed in an office.
