Competency-Based Education (CBE) Coach - DeVoe School of Business

Position Summary:

The CBE Coach will serve as the student’s primary point of contact throughout their program of study in the CBE-Bachelor of Science in Management program.The Coach will be responsible for monitoring and communicating with stakeholders on student progress, preparing status reports, recommending and directing students to institutional support services, and serving as an encourager and motivator as student’s progress toward degree completion.

This position would be paid per assigned student with a maximum load of ten (10) students per term.

Reporting Relationships:

Assistant Director of Advising, Student Services and Director of Curriculum and Operations, DeVoe School of Business

Education Requirements:

Master’s degree in business, education or applicable degree

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Serve as the student’s primary point of contact for support throughout CBE BSM program of study.

2.Serve in coaching capacity to encourage students toward program completion.

a.Proactive weekly outreach to students by phone for the first six weeks.

b.Consistent calls and follow-up with students after the initial six weeks until program completion.

3.Utilize CBE progress tools in BrightSpace to monitor, track and report student academic progress (SAP).

4.Provide Financial Aid Office, advising, instructor and other applicable stakeholders weekly student progress reports.

5.Collect certificates of completion for students enrolled in the CBE First Look (Orientation) class.Upon receipt of the certificate, enter a grade of CO (complete) or NCO (not complete) through DataConnect.

6.Monitor students’ responses on the CBE Program Fit assessment in the CBE First Look (orientation).Depending on assessment results and performance in CBE First Look, coach will counsel students as needed if another modality of the program might be a better fit and refer them to advising to explore additional options.
