Bachelor’s degree in related field. Four years of experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Assist the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA) in managing high-level complex administrative and supervisory program work related to the student travel funds, campus life development funds, student service fee committee, VPSA Office business operations, etc., as well as other high-level assignments for the Division of Student Affairs.

Primary Responsibilities

Oversees the work of assigned program staff. Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities. Prepares program budget requests and VPSA Office budget requests. Prepares and oversees the preparation of training and program operational manuals for the VPSA Office. Confers with staff on program, budget, staffing to identify and implement solutions, processes that improve efficiencies. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates VPSA Office programs. Participates in the development of programs and VPSA office goals and objectives. Develops and recommends program and internal division budget and personnel guidelines and processes, adhering to SHSU policies and procedures. Conducts special investigations, program analysis and research studies. Acts as a point of contact for Student Affairs departments related to budget, personnel other financial transactions and approvals. Assists the VPSA in all reports, processes and analysis related to, but not limited to, the Division of Student Affairs budget, staffing, processes and procedures requiring the VPSA approval and oversight. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to supervise business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, other agencies and vendors.
