Job Details
Responsibilities include teaching a college course (lecture + lab) in HVACR using a variety of instructional methods. Classes scheduled during the day or evenings depending on enrollment. Compensation is $590 per semester hour. Subject to criminal background check.
Required EducationAssociate Degree or higher.
Or 8 years or more years industry experience as a full time technician in the HVACR field may fulfill education requirement.
Be able to communicate well with students, and convey skills need for an entry level HVACR technician. Skills required are residential and commercial HVAC installation and repair. Experience in refrigeration systems and repair. Microsoft Office proficient. Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Preferred Skills & AbilitiesHVAC Contractor’s License (TDLR)
Required ExperienceThree years of HVAC experience in the industry including installations of HVAC equipment, service, maintenance, and repair of existing systems. Experience in duct system design, heat load calculations and building science.
Preferred ExperienceFive or more years of HVAC experience in the industry. Community College and/or Public School teaching experience. Online curriculum development and online teaching experience.
