About the PositionThe Administrative Support Coordinator will work independently, under general supervision, to provide moderately complex administrative and clerical support to the School Director and School students, faculty, and staff. The functions of this position include but, are not limited to Human Resources and Budget; Office Administration and Support; Department Academic coordination and support; databases, technology, and event coordination.
Required Qualifications-Completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.
-Two years of related office work experience.
Preferred Qualifications-Some college
-Experience with budgets
-Experience with computer skills and working knowledge of common software suites, along with data entry and management
-Experience with student support (i.e., class scheduling, records and enrollment, and familiarity with curriculum)
-Experience with customer service, office administration and project management, social media, and event coordination
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-Ability to perform standard business math, calculate ratios, track financial data, and make simple projections
-Skilled in making purchases, processing travel reimbursements, and any other financial transactions related to special session budgets
-Skilled or ability working with CMS Data Warehouse & FTS systems
-Ability to learn the hiring of faculty and/or student assistants for special session programs
-Knowledge of processing payments for faculty and student assistants, including non-teaching appointments
-Knowledge with scheduling classes and making modifications for special session programs
-Knowledge of and ability to learn professional general business office procedures and practices
-Ability to compose and appropriately format correspondence and reports

All background checks are conducted through the university's third party vendor, Accurate Background. Some positions may also require fingerprinting. SJSU will pay all costs associated with this procedure. Evidence of required degree(s) or certification(s) will be required at time of hire.
