About the PositionThe Parking Services Administrative Assistant is responsible for working closely with the public, in person and by telephone regarding parking issues. Enters data into databases and maintains accurate records. The Parking Services Administrative Assistant is to provide administrative support for the Support Services Division and to be guided by the department's and the Administrative Division's vision and core values.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide customer service at the front counter of the Parking Services Office
- Greet customers, sell parking permits, post citation payments, process refunds and answer phones
- Process special requests for bulk permits; enter information into Parking Services¿ database
- Process requests for police reports, live-scan fingerprints, immobilized/impounded vehicle releases and other police services
- Provide general customer service by determining customer needs and properly direct them so that their needs can be addressed
- Assist in the opening and/or closing of the parking office, and follow the procedures associated with those tasks
- Accurately collect money and perform daily reconciliation of a cash drawer
- Process payroll deduction transactions
- Fulfill requests for on-line permit requests
- Organize files and maintain logs for parking permit, parking citations and appeals, parking reconciliations
- Access other records systems to assist in parking sales, refund, citation transactions
- Enter citations and citation reviews into the Parking Services¿ database
- Process letters and other information or documents associated with the citation and citation review process
- Process citation payments and update delinquent accounts
- Maintain an inventory of office and parking related supplies
Required Qualifications- Completion of a high school program or its equivalent
- One year of experience in an office environment
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 years working in an office environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Ability to compose and appropriately format correspondence and reports.
- Knowledge of software applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database management.
- Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle multiple work priorities, organize and plan work and projects.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive communications with employees and external agencies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
- Ability to effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
- Ability to respond to routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures to others.
