Position Summary:

The incumbent designs and manages the Business Intelligence (BI) tools and application environment for the Clinical Informatics core of UC Irvine Health Affairs including, but not limited to clinical informatics, nursing informatics, and medical informatics. Works with end users and business analysts to design, configure, and manage BI tools that supports user-defined needs, creates and delivers user-defined reports, provides end-user training and documentation, and provides second-tier support to power users who develop reports on behalf of their colleagues. Salary Range:

Rate Minimum $79,800.00 Maximum $181,900.00

Required Qualifications:

3-5 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server

Ability to customize Business Intelligence tools to meet user needs

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to lead projects or portions of larger projects

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, templates and analytical views

Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software based technical issues to ensure a stable, robust data warehouse/BI environment in both Linux and Windows platforms

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or combination of education and equivalent work experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience with Transact SQL scripts and relational and multidimensional database designs

Minimum of 5 years working in programming in a healthcare or scientific research setting, with demonstrated experience using open source tools

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Strong problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

Business Intelligence (BI) tools experience

Data Warehouse development experience

Experience using MS Tableau Reporting Software and knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services

Experience using an ETL tool such as Talend

Experience with Red Hat and/or CentOS

Experience with data modeling tools

Full software lifecycle development experience using a variety of programming environments, including open source tools
