The Center for Integrative Planetary Science (CIPS) at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a number of Postdoctoral Research positions in any area of planetary science, starting in the fall of 2020. The positions are for two years, full time, with renewal for a third year contingent on performance and funding. The positions will be open until filled.
Current senior members of CIPS include Jill Banfield, Kristie Boering, Bruce Buffett, Eugene Chiang, William Dietrich, Courtney Dressing, James Graham, Paul Kalas, Imke de Pater, Raymond Jeanloz, Michael Manga, Philip Marcus, Burkhard Militzer, and David Romps. Successful candidates will have overlapping research interests with these faculty members. Current research areas span astronomical observations of the solar system, Martian geodynamics and geomicrobiology, giant planets, planetary and satellite interiors and atmospheres, planet formation theory, protoplanetary disks, and extrasolar planets. Special attention will be paid to candidates with broad interests and expertise who can bridge Berkeley's Earth and Planetary Science Department and Astronomy Department.

Selected postdocs may participate in joint projects with assigned faculty mentor or conduct independent research.
Basic/Minimum Qualification (at the time of application): PhD or equivalent international degree or enrolled in PHD or equivalent international degree program.
Additional Qualification (by the start date): A PhD degree or equivalent international degree is required by the start date.
Preferred Qualifications: A PhD degree or equivalent international degree in astrophysics, geophysics, planetary science, physics or related fields.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
