Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is seeking to hire a full-time faculty member to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the Division of Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Services. The primary responsibility of the position will be to provide academic, administrative and professional services with clinical duties in the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Family and Community Medicine FQHC consisting of both outpatient psychiatric services and some inpatient services. The incumbent will also be responsible for instruction of students, residents and other allied health professionals in both departments as well as participation in clinical and research services. Qualified applicants will have an M.D. or D.O. degree, must have completed four years of approved residency training in psychiatry. Applicants must be board certified in General Psychiatry within two years of hire and maintain board certification. Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. Applicants must have sufficient experience in ECT to be privileged at teaching hospitals and must be trained or agree to be trained in TMS therapy. This position has been designated as security sensitive and employment is contingent upon the result of a criminal background investigation.
