City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is made up of seven colleges, the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest nationally. Primary Objective:
Consider joining Wilbur Wright College's Continuing Education Department as a Part-Time Academic/Communication Instructor. Wilbur Wright College's Continuing Education Department has an exciting opportunity for an engaging, energetic and patient instructor to teach a group of young adults with mild cognitive disabilities ages 18 and over. The Academic/Communication instructor will develop and implement an appropriate and engaging curriculum by taking into consideration the unique abilities and interests of each participant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Ability to teach using different methods and teaching styles, ensuring that participants are fully engaged.
- Inspire, motivate and foster confidence in all students.
- Adhere to the City Colleges of Chicago code of ethics, board rule, policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Special Education or related field.
- One year teaching and/or training experience in appropriate discipline preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse group of students and staff.
- Inspire, motivate and foster confidence in all students.
