Job Details

Essential Functions

  • Direct Clinical Services: Implement direct clinical services in-person and via a tele-mental health approach with a perinatal population including screening and assessment as well as individual, couples, and family approaches to treatment. Collaborate with supervising faculty to develop and implement clinical services for substance using perinatal clients and family members. Provide psychoeducation around what to expect when accessing and rights related to substance use and mental health services. Seek, develop and coordinate community referrals across the state. Maintain client related paperwork in a timely manner. Actively participate in termination and discharge planning.
  • Professional writing: Along with the faculty leads, engage in professional writing projects including presentations, publications, and grant writing related to the mission of the EWB program. Authorship of all writing will be determined based on degree of effort and the Fellow is expected to be an author on all professional writing associated with this position.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team context. Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, administrative reviews and informal consultations as needed.

It is expected that the above tasks will require:

  • Average 40 hours/week commitment.
  • Minimum 12-month commitment (flexible start-end date)
  • A minimum of weekly one-hour supervision of clinical duties, with additional supervision opportunities as wanted/needed for growth and/or licensure
  • Opportunities for teaching graduate-level courses, according to interest, knowledge, and course availability
  • Weekly one-hour team meetings
  • Weekly supervision of graduate students, commensurate with prior coursework and experience in providing supervision
  • Independent and collaborative writing projects including presentations, publications, and grant-writing
  • Completion of all clinical and agency paperwork & billing
  • Other Duties as assigned or requested (i.e., teaching and additional supervision or clinical experiences).

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in a mental health field recognized by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
  • License eligible as an LPC, PsyD, PhD or LMFT
  • Two+ years of experience providing psychological services, including interest in or experience with serving a perinatal population, particularly those using or exposed to substances, to include the ability to intervene appropriately in a therapeutic manner based on the psychological presentation of clients.

  • Licensed as an LPC, PsyD, PhD or LMFT

Work Schedule

DU's business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The schedule for this position may include evenings or other times outside of this range, based on the needs of clients, supervision, and ongoing writing projects.

Salary Range:

Participants of the post-graduate fellowship program will be offered a stipend in line with national fellowship salary guidelines set by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
