Senior Procurement Manager

Manages and Directs the evaluation, coordination and execution of major procurements for Clemson University. This includes communicating and working with all levels of faculty, staff members and endusers providing procurement guidance as required. Oversees the Negotiations of complex University contracts with the buyers. Leads team of buyers to oversee the purchasing function of the University. Responsible for developing performance and management planning and evaluations. Performs other duties as assigned
50% - Essential - Procurement: Develops procurement strategies through coordination with departments and other Procurement functions. Develops specifications for large contracts. Manages procurement staff on the execution of sourcing strategies and interpretation of policies and procedures. Prepares and manages bids and requests for proposals for large procurements. Ensures that training is provided to new buyers as needed. Establishes a strong working relationship with all University departments. Manages the utilization of State and establishes agency contracts to obtain the most cost effective procurement for the University.
25% - Non-Essential - Financial Activities: Develops, prepares, and executes on a strategic sourcing plan for assigned commodities that delivers measurable savings for Clemson University. Ensures that buyers are achieving negotiated savings and reporting their savings accordingly. Assists with developing and presenting metrics on deflation and productivity savings. Manages contracts of approximately $100M annually.
20% - Essential - Customer Service: Manages procurements by certified departmental buyers and develops processes and tools for ensuring their participation in University-wide strategic sourcing strategies. Develops and manages training and communications with system users and suppliers. Executes sourcing strategies and implementation of policies and procedures. Evaluates and manages the staff of buyers for the University.
5% - Essential - Other Duties as Assigned: Support the Strategic Operations Team with the Total Supplier Management project. New Supplier Registration process. Responsible to manage new supplier request forms, review, approve and invite suppliers for the commodities that I manage. Manage approximately 75 plus percent of all supplier request forms received from end-users currently.
Bachelor's Degree and five (5) plus years experience in procurment.
