Salary: $21.36 - $25.48 hourly

Position Description:
The SRA I works under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigators. The incumbent will perform laboratory work including, but not limited to, developmental assays, physiological/metabolic assays, tissue culture experiments, PCR, anatomical characterization, microscopy, and DNA/RNA preparation. She/he will also manage the breeding colonies of Monodelphis domestica (opossums), Mus musculus (mouse), and Anolis lizards. S/he will be required to perform general laboratory maintenance, including product ordering, cleaning, and the preparation of stock solutions. S/he will also help organize and run laboratory safety protocols and standards. Some field work may also be required to help collect bats and/or reptiles. Preferred candidates will have previous experience with PCR, developmental assays, tissue culture, RNA/DNA extraction and library preparation, handling of laboratory animals (mammals and/or reptiles), and the ordering of supplies; previous experience working in a developmental, physiology, or genomics lab is also desirable. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability for a high degree of organization and to work with some supervision on large-scale projects that require attention to detail.
