Job Details
Full-time, tenure-track position to begin August 2020. The Department of Chemistry offers an ACS-certified undergraduate degree as well as a master’s degree program.
Summary of Job Responsibilities/Duties: Duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, engaging in research resulting in refereed publications, and providing university and regional service. Teaching will be primarily in organic chemistry, but may include other areas as needed.
Minimum Education RequirementsEarned doctorate in chemistry with research specialization in organic chemistry. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment will be considered.
Minimum Experience and Skill RequirementsThe successful candidate must show the potential to develop a research program that complements existing areas of expertise within the Department of Chemistry, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
Preferred Education and/or Experience QualificationsThe preferred candidate will have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals indicating the ability to thrive in a research intensive setting. Preferred areas of research include synthetic organic, bio-organic, organometallic, or polymer/materials science. Teaching experience in a laboratory or classroom setting is preferred.
