Senior Employment And Fellowships Analyst

Reporting to the Director of Finance, Operations & Data Management, and indirectly to the Operations Manager, the position independently provides high level administrative, policy and analytical support for the Graduate Division and the campus in the areas of graduate student employment, contract interpretation, fellowship policies, funding issues, and NSF GRFP administration. Incumbent manages the daily operations of the Employment section of the Graduate Division. Manages the administration, analysis of, and compliance with all campus and collective bargaining policies and procedures related to graduate student employment and extramural fellowships. This position serves as a key resource to the Director, Assistant Dean, and Dean and is the primary Graduate Division contact for Academic Personnel, Labor Relations, academic unit personnel, as well as system-wide and UCOP personnel on graduate student employment issues including: academic eligibility, consistency and appropriateness of appointments, funding compliance, interpretation of, and exceptions to policies. This position has independent responsibility for policy analysis and interpretation, and problem solving that requires constant interaction with all levels of university and agency faculty and staff. This includes formulating policy recommendations, and development/implementation of procedures to support effective student employment and externally-funded fellowship administrative operations. Incumbent also manages and administers extramural fellowship awards on behalf of the Graduate Division, including the NSF GRFP, Fulbright-Hays, DAAD, ARCS, Phi Beta Kappa International Scholarship, Google Ph.D. Fellowship, and others as assigned. Incumbent also manages and administers six internal endowed fellowships. Responsibilities include independently ensuring the coordination of approved funding sources with eligible students and agency's criteria, functioning in a liaison role with the extramural funding agency, independently monitoring the status of awards, verifying student eligibility, and monitoring and reporting student progress. In this role incumbent also works closely with and advises students on submission processes for various awards; with students who have been awarded NSF GRFP and other external agency fellowships; as well as advising students and staff on student support conflicts, policies and issues. Incumbent is required to have very strong analytical, writing and communication and interpersonal skills to independently carry out these functions. Serve as Subject Matter Expert for the Graduate Employment and Fellowships functional areas, and as business lead on the analysis, design and implementation of the new GradAid web application. Serve as functional lead for Graduate Division's Tier-n system on the UCPath implementation.

Salary: Monthly $4,968.58 - $6,755.83
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
