Position Summary

The Department of Public Administration and Policy in the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship or tenured associate professor position with appointment to begin in August 2020. This position requires a teaching and research focus within any of the following areas: public budgeting, financial management/administration, and/or public finance.

Additional Requirements

All applicants should have an earned Ph.D. in public administration or a related field by August 2020.

To be eligible for the rank associate professor, candidates are expected to show clear and convincing evidence of emerging stature as a national and/or international expert in their field.

To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

Ideal candidates will contribute to our MPA program and our Ph.D. program in public administration and policy. Successful candidates should demonstrate a dedication to research, teaching, and student mentorship as well as an ability to build upon the current strengths of our department. Candidates with interest in advancing grantsmanship (collaboratively or individually) to support research in these areas are especially encouraged to apply.
