Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university personnel, state and federal agencies and private organizations on complex matters.

Position Summary

This is responsible professional level work within the Auxiliary Services Division. The Grants Professional reports to the Auxiliary Services Quality & Organizational Excellence Analyst and will research, write, and coordinate grants through appropriate funding opportunities for existing, new, and cutting-edge future services. This position will work closely with Auxiliary leadership and will maintain close liaison with suitable partners (e.g., School of Engineering, Office of Sustainability, Procurement, etc.) to research, write, obtain, and coordinate multi-functional and multi-collaborative grant proposals to further the needs and mission of the University. The successful candidate will be familiar with the entire grant process from exploration through implementation through the grant post-award period, and be able to maintain oversight of multiple grants at a time.

· Detail oriented with demonstrated focus on accuracy and timelines.

· Conducts the full range of activities required to research funding opportunities that meet the mission, direction, and strategic vision of Auxiliary Services and UGA
· Cultivates, engages, and collaborates with Auxiliary Services’ departments, UGA colleges/divisions, and other agencies, when appropriate, to review prospect funding sources
· Facilitates and coordinates the team effort of principle investigators to review a wide range of funding agencies and organizations, including Federal, State, private, and internal funding sources
· Performs prospect research on available grant opportunities for suitability, eligibility, and probability of grant award
· Prepares executive summaries and synopses, and makes recommendations to senior management for grant submissions

· Tracks and coordinates participation in new and ongoing funding opportunities and submits grant proposals in collaboration with a variety of departments and programs
· Coordinates proposal team formation and effort, and writes/develops grant proposals; synthesizes proposal materials where relevant; ensures continuity of writing style among different writers
· Writes precise, consistent, grammatically correct, and well-organized documents
· Processes and submits proposals within deadlines, which meet the terms of the grant requirements, to senior management for approval. Once given approval for submission, prepares and submits grant proposals in compliance with funder guidelines
· Creates templates and “boilerplate” documents to support proposal development infrastructure: develops and maintains a knowledge base of grant opportunities, grant points of contact, and a pool of potential University team members to help with future grants

· Coordinates the management of the award from pre-award stage through the termination of the grant/contract
· Serves as the primary organizational point of contact for questions/responses from grant administrators and pertinent organizations
· Develops and implements procedures for grant management and administration to include at minimum: grant contracts, grant visibility and awareness, grant finances, and other University obligations under grant stipulations
· Ensures all University parties comply with grant requirements; handles all on-going issues and challenges
· Tracks reporting schedules and grant progress. Ensures all deadlines are met under grant deliverables
· Responds to questions, or provides additional material, to grant originators
