Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is preferred.

Position Summary

This employee will support the Bone and Body Composition Laboratory in the processes of a randomized controlled trial. They will lead to the development and implementation of study protocols and manage tasks related to experimental research design, strategic participant recruitment and retention, assessment of compliance and safety, implementation of quality control steps, data analysis, preparation of progress reports, and managing staff members as well as graduate and undergraduate students. This employee will be at the center of every decision of this project, and will be the source of guidance for the principal investigator, staff members, and graduate students.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Experience with pediatric clinical trials, collection of clinical data, and familiarity with the administrative requirements, study management, nutrition science, and budget management components of a RCT. Experience writing grants and peer-review publications. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with professional collaborators (including MDs) and the public, including parents and their children.

Physical Demands

Primarily office work. Siting for long periods of time. Visiting different community locations to facilitate recruitment. Lifting 25+ pounds.

Provides leadership and makes decisions regarding the organization and coordination for randomized clinical trials (RCTs), including recruitment, screening, testing, and participant retention and compliance. Facilitates strategic decision making/protocol development which will prioritize the safety and anonymity of the participants while supporting the mission of the project in the most efficient way.
