Job Description Summary

Toxicology Analyst

Job Description

This position provides analytical toxicology support for veterinary diagnostic cases. The primary function will be to perform analyses for drugs, pesticides, toxins, and metals using GC/MS, GC/ECD, LC/UV/FL, and LC/MS/MS. This includes sample preparation and instrumentation operation and maintenance. The position requires accurate data entry, maintenance of laboratory records, the creation and revision of SOPs, and someone who enjoys working well with others in a collaborative team environment. Other activities will include performing additional analyses using ICP/MS, FIMS, IC, and ELISA.


  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain GC/MS, LC/UV/FL, GC/ECD, and LC/MS/MS for the analysis of drugs, pesticides, and toxins in feed, water, biological, and environmental samples
  • Prepare standards, reagents
  • Work on collaborative projects, proficiency tests, and other assignments
  • Write and revise SOPs
  • Analyze samples with FIMS, ICP/MS, IC, and ELISA
  • Log samples for incoming cases and enter test data


A Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Working Conditions: Requires extensive safety training; Exposure to chemicals; Requires protective devices
