Responsibilites
- Manage documentation and coordination for outgoing loans
- Manage documentation and coordination for incoming loans
- Work with lenders, borrowers and Museum departments to carry out loan renewals and terminations
- Work with donors, Curatorial Sections and Museum Development office on new acquisitions
- Assist collections staff as necessary including work on the collections database, EMu
- Act as point person for Collections Security
- Responsible for positive and helpful interactions with Museum visitors, acting as the Museum’s host, answering questions and providing assistance as needed to ensure our guests encounter a welcoming atmosphere
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum: BA/BS required, with MA/MS prefered in a field related to the Museum’s holdings and/or an MA in Museums Studies (Registration/Collections Management); 2-3 years’ registrarial experience required, or equivalent combination of education and museum work experience; experience managing collections including recording, loans and acquisitions processes; knowledge of archaeological and ethnographic materials required; computer literacy required; experience with collections management databases required, with EMu experience preferred; strong organizational skills and attention to detail required; ability to multi-task required; art-handling experience required; manual dexterity required; ability to lift up to 25 lbs required, 50 lbs preferred; valid driver’s license required.
