Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide supervision of the PADLS (Pennsylvania Animal Diagnostic Laboratory System) New Bolton Center analytical toxicology laboratory. The primary function is to manage day-to-day operations of the toxicology laboratory to provide accurate test results to the clients and maintain AAVLD accreditations. Additional duties include staff training and supervisions and the management of laboratory supply purchases and equipment repair. Conducting research and developing and refining methods for the performance of new and existing tests is required. This position has an active role in research projects, manuscript preparation, and grant writing.

Job Description

Additional duties include staff training and supervisions and the management of laboratory supply purchases and equipment repair. Conducting research and developing and refining methods for the performance of new and existing tests is required. This position has an active role in research projects, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. A PhD in analytical chemistry or a comparable field is required, along with 7-10 years of relevant experience. This position is located on Penn Vet's New Bolton Center campus; public transportation is not available.
