Job Description Summary

Job Description

Work independently and directly under the principal investigators to study the effects of glucokinase activators on bioenergetics and hormone secretion in pancreatic islets. As a key researcher in this effort, you will perform functional testing of human and rodent islets; this includes hormone secretion, oxygen consumption, and intracellular Ca2+, cAMP and NADH levels. You will critically analyze this data and, together with PIs, design additional experiments to investigate the therapeutic effects of these drugs. You will contribute to scientific publications and additional grant funding.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
