The Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, with the supervision and support of the Lead Director of Corporate/Foundation Relations and Sponsored Programs, will create and implement strategies to identify, research, cultivate, solicit and steward foundation and corporate grantors to Albion College. The Associate Director will work within Albion College and with prospective and current grantors to define institutional grant needs, present needs in a compelling manner via grant applications, and engage with funding partners using best practices of grantsmanship and philanthropy and the highest standards of integrity. The Associate Director will also implement and maintain processes and practices that underlie ongoing functions of the Grants Office, including grant searches, grantor research, production of grantor profiles, development of grant skills among faculty and staff, record-keeping and reporting. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Status: Full-Time

Duration: 12 months per year

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in corporate and foundation relations, grant writing, sponsored research, or highly related experience incorporating both written communication (such as technical or persuasive writing) and personal contact with constituents or clients, preferably in an education or nonprofit setting
  • Must have a valid, or be eligible to obtain, a Michigan driver’s license and clearing initial and periodic driving record checks.
