Student Finance Representative- Student Accounts (Chicago Campus)

This position is responsible for providing support for the collection and processing of student payments, providing detailed information on student’s financial inquiries while following generally accepted accounting practices and Title IV regulations. Also will be responsible for processing and depositing all funds received and maintaining University cash management policies.

Complies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures. Manages University aging report to review outstanding balances and performs outreach to students on balance resolution, including making payments, settting up payment plans, accepting loans, and completing finacial aid paperwork. Responsible for effective and timely communication, both in person and over the phone, with students regarding their account. 
Perform cashiering and cash management activities for the campus, including making bank deposits, reconciling payments, researching missing/incorrect payments, monitoring, closing and finalizing cashiering sessions. Answers student inquiries regarding billing statements, financial aid, tuition rates, etc. by phone, email, mail, and in-person.
Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. Has knowledge of the processes and procedures of other departments to ensure that the unique situations and needs of students are met. Contribute to the overall success of the University, the department, and the student. Participate as an active team member of the Student Finance Department and ensure active communication and cohesive working relationships with all other departments.
Other duties as assigned.

Associates degree or comparable work experience required. Bachelors degree preferred. 
At least 1 year of experience in a financial aid department of an accredited college or university with direct responsibility for advising on Title IV or student account activities preferred.
