Must demonstrate human relations and managerial skills and an understanding of disciplines which comprise the College. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of PositionThe Associate Dean is a critical member of the college’s administrative leadership team and participates in university-wide initiatives. The Associate Dean is expected to assist the Dean of the College in dealing with the needs of faculty, staff, and students of the College and provide oversight for one of two general areas: academic affairs (e.g. curriculum, faculty development) or graduate programs/research (depending on skill set and area of expertise).
Primary ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to assisting the Dean of the College with the following functions: general administration, curriculum and instruction, accreditation efforts, evaluation and assessment, faculty matters, College organization, internal and external College communication, research activity, student matters, administration of scholarships, fiscal matters, and interacting with other colleges and divisions within the university. Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
Other SpecificationsExperience in curriculum development, including both face-to-face and online learning. Experience with academic program accreditation in health sciences. Experience fostering a culture of research and academic excellence. Experience developing and fostering community partnerships and inter-university collaborations. Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations.
