Position Summary Information

Primary Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, the Recruitment & Outreach Manager, Health Programs is responsible for developing and overseeing all outreach and recruitment opportunities for the gradate health programs at University of the Pacific. In collaboration with faculty and program managers, the Recruitment & Outreach Manager sets and oversees the coordination of health program events, ensuring health events are properly tracked in the university’s CRM for accurate data analysis and annual planning. The position travels to off-campus locations, including schools, colleges & universities, employer locations, and other venues to seek out and engage prospective students; advises students on the graduate health programs at Pacific; plans and executes comprehensive yield events, and is responsible for leading collaborative recruitment efforts for all programs housed in the School of Health Sciences. This position focuses on all health graduate programs offered at University of the Pacific, however aligns recruitment initiatives with and partners with the Recruitment & Outreach Manager for Graduate School.

Essential Functions

1.Sets the health school recruitment schedule and oversees all health school related recruitment initiatives to drive enrollment goals. This includes, but is not limited to, making west coast college visits and health fairs, regional community engagement events (3-city), and large scale recruitment expositions to gather leads. Projecting a professional image of the University through written and verbal communication is essential. During any year, the Recruitment and Outreach Manager may be traveling 2-4 weeks during the fall, 4-6 weeks in the spring and as needed throughout the year to recruit students.

2.Works cooperatively with faculty to understand the needs of academic departments for marketing the University’s health programs to potential students, corporate partners, career counselors and faculty at outside universities and colleges. Must understand all graduate level health programs across the three University campuses and whether a student fits the academic profile for potential acceptance to a particular program.

3.In coordination with the programs, plans and conducts health focused recruitment information sessions and/or open houses at various on-campus and off-campus locations (universities/colleges, corporate partners, community events) for prospective students, parents, and other interested individuals or groups.

4.Analyzes reports based on trends and attendance at various events. Provides data analysis after events and provides critical insight to the Graduate School leadership team in understanding and using the data for recruitment, event budgeting and strategy.

5.Possesses the flexibility and wherewithal to operate in several databases at one time. This includes, but is not limited to, Salesforce, Asana and Banner. Must be able to navigate these systems to provide a high level of customer service to the public.

6.Develops positive working relationships with regional academic as well as community groups and coalitions in order to create additional pipelines for health program leads and applicants.

7.Hold regular meetings with health program staff & faculty to discuss progress on enrollment and related issues. Advises health programs on recruitment and outreach strategy and oversees execution and implementation of robust recruitment strategies to achieve student enrollment targets.

8.Assists students with application procedures to ensure a smooth transition into the program, maintaining the highest standards of customer service.

9.Through collaboration with graduate programs, identifies gaps in enrollment communication and takes initiative to develop and execute recruitment communication plans, as needed. Tracks prospective students through the enrollment funnel, engaging them with the University as identified in collaboration with the health programs.

10.Responsible for developing and executing an engagement plan for building undergrad to grad pipelines at University of the Pacific. This includes, but is not limited to, engaging undergraduate faculty, Career Resource Center counselors, staff in the various schools and directly advising undergraduate students on graduate health academic programs. Leads the coordination of the annual Health Fair at the Stockton Campus.

11.Speaks and presents to wide and varying audiences (prospective student, community leaders, corporate partners and alumni) to drive applications to the health programs at the University. Presents on and off campus (3-city) and delivers a compelling case for enrollment in health programs at Pacific in both individual and group settings. Meets with groups, individuals and one-on-one with students and must quickly articulate positive attributes of the University to determine whether potential applicants may be a good fit for the University.

12.Stays current in all pertinent aspects of enrollment management and program advisement.

13.Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Three (3) years admissions or related experience.
•Event planning experience.
•Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
•Ability to work irregular hours and ability to travel extensively.

Preferred Qualifications

•Master’s degree.
•Marketing knowledge preferred.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; interpersonal relationship-building skills and excellent public speaking skills.
•Knowledge of and willingness to learn and work with technology; specifically word processing environments, internet navigation, databases, and e-mail correspondence.
•Demonstrated skills in data analysis; exceptional organizational skills and strong work ethics.
•Excellent customer service skills with focus on exceptional follow-through.
•Must work effectively in a fast-paced environment, comfortably managing multiple priorities while maintaining adherence to deadlines.
•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must possess strong initiative and self-starter skills and possess a goal-oriented attitude.
•Must be a committed team player and must feel comfortable in a collaborative work environment.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours. May be required to work irregular hours and travel extensively to meet business needs.

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
