Job Description Summary

A part-time research assistant position is available in Dr. Li’s lab, starting from June 2019, to work on an USDA-funded project on the role of the broccoli sprout bioactives and the gut microbiome in the suppression of colon tumorigenesis. Research assistants work throughout the academic year and summer employment is also available.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities Include:
•Conduct laboratory research.
•Perform data collection, data analysis and literature review.
•Maintain laboratory research records of all experiments performed.
•Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations and manuscripts.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Required qualifications include:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biochemistry, chemistry, biology or related field.
•Prior experience in handling animal samples (blood, urine, feces, and tissues).
•Experience of mammary cell culture.
•Highly motivated, reliable, organized, and good interpersonal and communication skills.
•Able to work independently and with a team, and must be able to manage his/her time across multiple projects.

Desired qualifications:
•Experience of using HPLC and Mass Spectrometry.
