The candidate must be enrolled in a course at Morton College, with excellent interpersonal skills and have Adobe program and Mac computer experience. The candidate must be well organized, dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented and have good judgment. Must be flexible in work availability including daytime, evenings, or weekend hours. The duties and responsibilities may change as the need of the college rises.

Applicant must be a current Morton College student carrying six credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester. One credit in the Summer semester. Student must also be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance and truth.

Job Summary

The student aide will monitor the art department’s digital art lab during open studio hours and assist with the day to day operations of the lab.

Specific Job Duties

•Over-see student sign in and out of the lab during lab times.
•Be present in the lab the entire time the studio is open
•Enforce all lab rules as set in place by the art faculty
•Refill paper in the printer when necessary
•Inventory printer ink and paper on a bi-weekly basis and report to the faculty advisor if new supplies need to be ordered
•Assist students with computer help if needed
•Assist with the Skyway Juried Competition entries
•Maintain the computers and printers by dusting and cleaning the screens regularly
•Make sure all computers are shut down and tablets are stored at the end of open studio lab time.
•Contact MIS and the faculty advisor if any problems with the lab equipment arises.
•Perform other duties as assigned
