2018-2019 CSEA Salary Schedule
Grade 8 $41,777.32 - 43,886.04 - 46,076.93 - 48,432.13 - 50,855.80 - $53,402.68/year, plus 7.5% Shift Differential

Benefits
The District shall contribute up to $28,257.96 per fiscal year toward employee and dependent(s) medical/dental coverage; contribute $1,500 per fiscal year toward dependent(s) or employee medical/dental coverage or other approved deductions consistent with IRS regulations; provide life insurance of a minimum of $50,000 or a maximum not to exceed the annual salary of the employee. Holidays, sick days, and vacation are earned in accordance with the CSEA contract. Payroll deductions include the California Public Employees' Retirement System and Social Security.

CLASS SUMMARY
Under direction - leads custodial staff, assists in the evaluation and scheduling of the custodial staff, performs custodial duties, performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Leads, inspects, and assists a crew of custodial personnel and students engaged in the cleaning of campus facilities; instructs subordinate employees in the proper and safe use of materials and equipment; moves and arranges furniture, equipment and supplies; inspects buildings to determine if proper custodial methods are being followed and standards maintained; confers with manager regarding employees; evaluates cleaning products; maintains daily time records; checks and implements schedules for employees; keeps simple records.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This class reports to the Custodial Supervisor and leads a staff of custodians and students workers assigned to the night or day shifts.

REQUIREMENTS
Three years of increasingly responsible experience in custodial work. Knowledge of the methods, materials, supplies, and equipment used in custodial work; the methods and principles of leadership and training; the sources of information for custodial methods, equipment, and materials. Ability to train and lead personnel; ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to work cooperatively with administrative and supervisory personnel, custodial staff, instructors, students, and others; ability to keep simple records. Physical Requirements: performs regular custodial duties which require climbing, stamina and some heavy lifting. License: a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Interview
Applicants selected for an interview may be required to take additional tests or assessments and will be notified of such prior to the date of the interview.
During the oral session, those selected for interviews will, in addition to the above, also be evaluated on the following factors:
• Oral communication skills
• Presentation
• Problem solving

A predetermined set of questions will be asked of all applicants interviewed. Applicants are requested to provide thorough yet concise information on their related experience to ensure correct evaluation of their qualifications. Evaluation criteria will be applied consistently to all applicants.

In the heart of Orange County lies Rancho Santiago Community College District, home of one of the state’s oldest community colleges, Santa Ana College, and also one of its newest, Santiago Canyon College. Centered in a growing and dynamic area, the district serves a population of more than 700,000 residents in the communities of Anaheim Hills, Garden Grove, Irvine, Orange, Santa Ana, Tustin and Villa Park.

Encompassing 24 percent of Orange County’s total area (193 square miles), the district maintains eight facilities. Rancho Santiago Community College District is home to two colleges and four continuing education centers throughout the Central Orange County area. In addition, the college district presents convenient community education courses in many other locations in cooperation with its education and community partners.

Santa Ana College founded in 1915, is a comprehensive community college preparing students for the workplace as well as to transfer to four-year higher learning institutions. Students may earn an associate degree certificate. For those willing to commit to high academic achievement, honors courses are offered. The college also assists students in gaining basic skills and technology proficiency so they can pursue other goals. It is located at the corner of West 17th Street and Bristol in Santa Ana on about 58 acres.

Santiago Canyon College, one of the state’s newest community colleges, offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes university transfer as well as associate degree programs. Honors courses are offered to those with high academic achievement goals. In addition, the college provides community services, technical certificate programs, non-credit courses and basic skills instruction. Situated on 82 acres, the college is located in Orange at the corner of Chapman Avenue and Newport Drive.
