Heralded as a hub of undergraduate innovation, the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) creates and sustains meaningful interactions between students and faculty both within and outside the classroom. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic program coordinator to join the team responsible for the development and administration of Cardinal Courses, a collaborative effort between VPUE and the Haas Center for Public Service. Cardinal Courses are service-learning courses that comprise a key component of Cardinal Service at the Haas Center. This position reports to a Director of Community Engaged Learning (DCEL) and will provide administrative and operational support for the DCEL team as a whole.

You will have a demonstrated interest in community engagement and public service and a proven track record of managing priorities with the highest degree of professionalism. You will possess excellent communication skills, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and demonstrate successful working relationships with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and monitoring administration of financial tasks (e.g., processing P-card transactions, reimbursements, and journal postings) and creating financial reports to ensure adherence to budget.

  • Contacting instructors, scheduling, and assigning staff to conduct Mid-Quarter Feedback (MQF) and debrief sessions; attending MQF sessions and capturing student discussions

  • Supporting recruitment, selection, orientation events, and meetings for Social Entrepreneurs in Residence (SEERS Fellows) and Haas Faculty Fellows

  • Working with the responsible DCEL to solicit contributions to the quarterly CEL newsletter and managing newsletter distribution

  • Coordinating production and dissemination of presentations, course handouts, grant proposals, and conference and seminar materials

  • Serving as a resource for communicating the Cardinal Course grant process and associated policies and procedures to instructors and administrators

  • Supporting the process for course recertification

  • Participating in Haas Center committees and other efforts to strengthen programs and policies

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • High school diploma and four years of administrative experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Advanced computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.

  • Demonstrated success in following through and completing projects.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.

  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.

  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

    About the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE)

    For undergraduates, VPUE is the nexus for programs and initiatives that help students define and achieve their intellectual ambitions at Stanford. These include investigative introductory courses taught by esteemed faculty, targeted classes in writing and rhetoric, undergraduate research support, academic advising and mentoring, overseas and off-campus study programs, and undergraduate scholarships and fellowships.
