Description

Dr. Gregory Brent in the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral scholar in Molecular Biology and Hormonal Signaling.

The successful candidate will investigate the role of thyroid hormone action in metabolic regulation and regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis, with a focus on the role of post-translational modification of the thyroid hormone receptor (TR) by sumoylation using animal and cellular models. The studies involve tools of physiological analysis, genomics, proteomics, epigenetics, high throughput data analysis and a wide-range of immunoassays and bioassays.

Qualifications and Preferred Academic Background:

  • Ph.D. in biomedical sciences
  • Experience working with mouse models
  • Skills in the full range of molecular biology techniques
  • Quantitative/computational skills in high throughput data analysis
  • Ability to write a manuscript draft

    The successful candidate will have access to both UCLA and VA campuses.
