Rosemont College seeks a dynamic, inclusive servant leader to serve as its 14th President and invites nominations for and expressions of interest in the position. The successful candidate will succeed Dr. Sharon L. Hirsh, who will retire in May 2020 following 14 years of distinguished service to the College.  The next President will possess a deep commitment to Rosemont’s mission and small, close-knit community culture.

Rosemont College was founded in 1921 by the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ). From the institution’s early days through the present, the SHCJ Foundress, Cornelia Connelly has been a driving force behind Rosemont’s charge to educate students “to meet the wants of the age,” which has been an integral part of the growth of the College. Rosemont is one college with three distinct schools: the traditional Undergraduate College, the School of Graduate Studies, and the School of Professional Studies, which includes Rosemont College Online. The College is known for its excellent academic reputation and its focus on developing the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being of each student. In the fall of 2018, Rosemont College enrolled 471 undergraduate students and 473 graduate and professional studies students. Rosemont is situated on 58 acres in the historic residential neighborhood of Rosemont, Pennsylvania, 11 miles west of Philadelphia on the suburban Main Line. This ideal location near a major metropolitan area provides a wealth of opportunities for students, faculty, and staff as well as a vibrant market for graduate and professional studies prospective students.

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the College, reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. The President provides servant leadership and direction for the management of all external and internal affairs of the College in keeping with its mission rooted in Catholic social principles and with its focus on service to students. The next President will have the opportunity to focus on the following priorities: strategic enrollment management, student retention and success, resource generation, strategic planning, and alumni relations, among others.

The ideal candidate will have values and experiences that deeply align with the mission of the College, including the following: possess wide ranging administrative experience and acumen, preferably from within an institution of higher education; possess business acumen, with a focus on financial and marketing skills; demonstrate an established record of fundraising; demonstrate a track record of creating inclusive and welcoming environments for all individuals from all backgrounds; be a mission-driven individual who understands and appreciates the important role the Society of the Holy Child Jesus and Catholic traditions play at the College; possess the highest personal and professional integrity and a passion and value for undergraduate liberal arts education, among others.
