Assistant/Associate Professor of Agricultural Education/Agricultural Communication & Leadership

POSITION: Full-time, nine-month probationary tenure-track position. The Department of Agriculture is committed to increasing the diversity of the campus community. RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibility is teaching undergraduate courses in agricultural education, agricultural communication and leadership, and preparing students for careers as certified teachers of agriculture. The candidate may also teach M.S. graduate courses, supervise graduate students, and advise departmental student organizations. The candidate will be expected to develop a high-quality research program that includes grant writing and publishing within the discipline. Additional responsibilities include participating in appropriate professional and university service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a doctorate in agricultural education, agricultural communications, or a closely related area by May 15, 2021. High school teaching experience is desirable but not required. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.

THE COLLEGE OF APPLIED SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY and THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE: The College of Applied Science and Technology is home to approximately 4,600 undergraduate and graduate students and 115 tenure-track faculty. The College of Applied Science and Technology includes the Departments of Agriculture, Criminal Justice Sciences, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health Sciences, Military Science, Technology, and the Schools of Information Technology and Kinesiology and Recreation (http://cast.illinoisstate.edu/).
