Job Description:


Budget Title: Instructional Support Technician (SL-3)


Salary: $48,201


The Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT) is seeking an Instructional Developer to work closely with the CLT Instructional Design Team and faculty subject matter experts to create online courses in degree and professional development programs and provide instructional design consultation and training.


The Instructional Developer will have the following primary responsibilities:


  • Build high-quality online course content, interactive exercises, assignments, and assessments that will serve as the primary content for the course in alignment with the course's competencies and learning outcomes
  • Design, develop, and maintain multimedia materials (such as videos, podcasts, interactive tutorials, and graphics) for online courses in collaboration with instructors and other members of the course development team
  • Serve as a technical and pedagogical resource to instructors as they develop and deliver their online courses
  • Create resources on research-informed, learner-centered online course development topics
  • Provide instructional design consulting and support to faculty on the University applications related to teaching online
  • Recommend online instructional strategies that address diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree and three years' related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in course content development using the Blackboard Learning Management System or other LMS
  • Demonstrated competency of multimedia software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, or similar tools
  • Experience in producing training and/or educational materials
  • Demonstrated ability to be both a team player and an independent worker
  • Fast learner, eager collaborator, meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to define and manage her/his own work processes towards specific team objectives

Preferred Experience:


  • Experience working with faculty and/or subject matter experts in higher education
  • Experience managing complex projects
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Demonstrated competency in Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar eLearning tools
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, accessibility guidelines, and copyright and intellectual property laws
