The Academic Support Coordinator position will report tothe Assistant Dean for Academic Support and provide support for thecreation and implementation for learning assistance programs designed to enhancestudents’ academic performance and support the college’s strategic plan andenrollment goals.

Responsibilities:

Inpartnership with faculty, create, implement and oversee learning assistanceprograms and services to include various types of tutoring services andsupplemental instruction.

Annuallyassess and report on the effectiveness of learning assistance programs andservices. Assist with the revision of programs as needed and implementstrategies to achieve optimal outcomes.

Support theperformance feedback process for learning assistance staff in coordination withthe Assistant Dean.
Working withothers in Academic Support, assist in yearly operations planning includingestablishing goals, priorities, implementation strategies, policies andprocedures for learning assistance programs.

Supporthiring, training, scheduling and supervision for tutors at two campus locationsand determine/promote alternate support for students online or at other collegesites.

Remaincurrent on new learning assistance technologies to promote student success.Implement and evaluate new, innovative learning assistance techniques based oncontinuous research of evidence-based practices.

Foster anenvironment of inclusiveness; one where all students are welcomed and empoweredto use Waubonsee learning assistance resources.

Working withmembers of the Educational Affairs team, develop internal annual marketingstrategies to promote and guide students and faculty in using learningassistance programs and services, including those provided online.

Continuallywork to create strong collaborative relationships with other areas of thecampus including faculty, students and staff who are stakeholders of assigned learningassistance programs.

Create,document and maintain a systematic, highly structured professional developmentplan for learning assistance staff based on NADE, CRLA or guidelines from otherrelated professional associations.

Mediate andresolve issues and complaints regarding assigned learning assistance programsin a timely manner.

Assist withmanaging assigned budget.

Incollaboration with the managers in the Academic Support Division, design acohesive academic support experience for students and employees.

Performother duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Academic Support

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelorsdegree in Education or related field.

At least 2years of work experience directly related to duties and responsibilitiesspecified.

Demonstratedability to work and collaborate effectively with others.

Excellentorganizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Experiencewith creating and managing learning assistance projects

Excellentsupervisory skills.

Experienceand competence with a myriad of computer applications and technologies.

Proficiencyin the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, email and and cloud-basedcollaboration tools like Google Drive and Dropbox.

Thoroughknowledge of and skill working with historically underserved studentpopulations.
