The ideal candidate will have a successful record of research productivity and clinical service. Candidates' background should demonstrate an established research interest with a focus in health services or related area, as well as interest in providing care for older adult populations. Fellowship training in a relevant field is desirable.

License or Certificate:

Must be eligible for a Wisconsin medical license and board eligble or board certified in Internal Medicine. BE/BC in Geriatrics preferred.

Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin - Madison Division of Geriatrics welcomes applications for a new tenure-track faculty position. The major mission of the successful applicant will be to develop an Alzheimer's Disease care research and/or Health Services research program that is self-funding and complements the existing strengths of our patient centered care programs, dedicated to the dementia and aging adult population. This new position would reside within the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatrics at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH).

In addition to research, the position will include clinical care responsibilities within existing clinical programs focused on the older adult population. Clinical service assignments will depend upon candidates' training and interests, and may include opportunities in areas such as palliative care and dementia care services. As a UW-Madison faculty member, this position will also include teaching responsibilities, both within the context of clinical practice and in the classroom setting or mentorship of students and trainees.

The UW Geriatrics Division is nationally renowned for its extensive expertise and innovative programs in aging and dementia research. It is expected that the successful candidate will dedicate the major share of their time to research and will be able to bring existing external funding to the position. In addition, the candidate will work to pursue additional funding in collaboration with Dr. Amy Kind and other colleagues as part the UW Health Services and Care Research (HSCR) Program. Preparation of successful grant applications, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications will be expected.

The new faculty member will be encouraged to collaborate with faculty across the university on interdisciplinary research and training that will enhance program support and develop our next generation of geriatrics care providers.
