Governors State University (GSU) invites applications from qualified candidates to fill a tenure-track, ten month appointment faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Occupational Therapy Department beginning August 16, 2019.

We are seeking a faculty member to teach and advise graduate students in the ACOTE accredited entry level Master Occupational Therapy Program, conduct research, and contribute to service and community engagement goals of the department and university.

Faculty responsibilities include student advisement/mentoring, participation in department meetings, committee assignments at the department, college, and university levels. As a member of the faculty, the individual will work collaboratively with the program director, faculty, and staff to conduct program assessment, ensure student learning outcomes, and participate in efforts to meet accreditation standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
• At least 2 years of occupational therapy experience
• Current Illinois Occupational Therapy License or license eligible
• NBCOT certification
• Teaching/academic experience
• Evidence of scholarly activity

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: neuro rehabilitation, community health, orthopedics, pediatrics, geriatrics, and mental health.

The successful candidate will have a record of teaching effectiveness, experience developing and teaching online (web-based) courses. an active research agenda or evidence of a line of research, the ability to facilitate faculty mentored student research and knowledge of ACOTE program standards.
