Program Administrator - Center for the Humanities, School of Arts and Sciences
DescriptionThis position is primarily based in the Center for the Humanities at Tufts, which is the primary center for support of faculty research in the humanities, as well as serving as a host for ongoing events including talks, symposia, and workshops. The position would have a secondary responsibility supporting the Center for the Study of Race and Democracy, which promotes engaged research and scholarship that focus on the ways in which issues of race and democracy impact the lives of global citizens.
The Program Administrator provides support for the Center for the Humanities’ general activities, which include: organizing events, inviting speakers, publicity for events, and hosting a number of faculty and postdoctoral fellows. Provides specialized, subject matter knowledge to develop the research capacities of the Center as part of an initiative to support faculty research funded by the Office of the Vice-Provost for Research, in collaboration with the center’s director. Participates in development of goals and strategies; creates data management and filing systems; develops, analyzes and monitors budgets, grants and contracts; and participates in development and implements marketing and advertising efforts including writing content for website and social media material. May design and represent program externally at conferences, meetings and events. Conducts research and drafts reports and results.
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree and 1-2 years related experience.
- Master’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of experience in related field of study.
