The Georgia HealthPolicy Center (GHPC), established in 1995, integrates research, policy, andprograms to advance health and well-being. The center conducts, analyzes anddisseminates qualitative and quantitative findings to connect decision makerswith the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisionsabout health policy and programs. Today the center is at work in more than 220communities in all 50 states, helping our nation to improve health status. In2017, the GHPC added a global portfolio, including work in Nigeria, Sudan, andIreland.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position is a consultant with the Center ofExcellence (COE) housed within the Georgia Health PolicyCenter at Georgia State University. The COE provides fidelitymonitoring, evaluation, research, training and technical assistancefor several offices (Children, Young Adults, and Families; Adult Mental Health)within the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health andDevelopmental Disabilities (DBHDD). High Fidelity Wraparound is anintegrated, facilitated process where multiple systems converge with the youthand family to create a highly individualized plan that addressescomplex emotional needs. The goals of Wraparound are tomeet the needs prioritized by a youth and family, improve their ability andconfidence to manage their own services and supports, developor strengthen their natural supports, and integrate the work ofall child serving systems and natural supports into a single streamlinedplan that is designed to help keep youth in their communities. TheSenior Training Specialist consultant will serve as alocal trainer and coach for Georgia Wraparound providers andcommunity partners.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Obtain certification as a Master Trainer via the National Wraparound Implementation Center:
    • Completionof core training requirements
    • Attend a coaches’ orientation training
    • Participate in scheduled coaching sessions schedule
  • Attend andfacilitate scheduled trainings
  • Provide technicalassistance to Wraparound facilitators
  • Develop, implement,and monitor training programs related to children’s behavioral health


  • Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field and three years’experience in training and development; or a combination of education andrelated experience.

    The Georgia State Panthers are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and compete in 16 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and volleyball. The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.

    The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
